Views block area is a simple module that allows you to insert a custom block into the header or footer of your View. Blocks generated by Views will not work in here but don’t worry, that’s taken care of by the default View Area provided by Views.

To get it working, all you need to do is install the module, create a View and in the header or footer add a new field of the type Global: Block Area. There you can select a label for the block, the actual block you need, a title for it and like usual, an admin title. Additionally, you can choose whether you want the block to appear even if the View returns no result. That’s pretty cool.

This module is an alternative to placing related blocks in adjacent regions, either on the sidebar or on top of the content region. So in case that’s not an option for you, know there is this handy little module. Additionally, you can find other modules that work nicely with Views or that are helpful when working with Drupal blocks.

Check it out and hope it helps you in some way.
