View Mode Page allows you to create custom URL patterns that show nodes with specific View Modes. In other words, you can create additional URLs for a particular node type that will each display a different View Mode. You can also choose to display a different View Mode depending on the user role, but that's the subject of another article.

So like I was saying, View Mode Page is a really cool module. Simple, efficient and to the point. You can combine it with Display Suite and make use of its power to create custom View Modes and layouts.

The place to do it is on the content type Manage Display page. After you select the View Mode you would like a special URL path to be created for, look below for View Mode Pages. There you can set the URL path - with the node ID wildcard included - like in the image above. You can even add a custom title for the page. After saving, just navigate to that path and you’ll see the node displayed using that View Mode.

Pretty cool no? One little drawback is that the path to the View Mode must be in this format: [node path/node alias]/[view mode url]. In other words, the path to the node must be contained in it. But other than that, it can be really handy!

Also, you need to pay attention not to damage your SEO given that these View Modes can be similar and search engines might look at the two different URLs as identical.

Hope this helps.
